Proposed policy for age exceptions – updated November, 2019

Asking for an age exception should be avoided as it has created problems in the past.

If absolutely necessary, an area must consider the following before even submitting a request:

1)     Area should do the following before making request:

a)     Do all possible to place where the player belongs according to current year’s Age Chart

b)     Contact adjoining areas to try and find a place for the player.

c)     Make request through the GSLJC President or Vice President who will present request to other areas

d)     Make request prior to season but must be within 7-10 before a player may

participate in any practice or game.

2)     Request should include:

a)     player’s name, address and DOB (proven with a birth certificate verifying the DOB)

b)     DOB shall not be more than 60 days of correct placement per current Age Chart

c)     why request is being made

d)     player’s experience

e)     where she played before

f)       position (cannot be a pitcher or catcher)

3)     Area should be aware that “if approved”, it would be for the current

season only and they shall notify family of the one-season only placement.
